Legislation Committee
This committee creates legislation and monitors proposals in the Legislature. Members work with our lobbyist advising legislators and staff and testifying before the Legislature. Mission Statement The mission and goals of the Legislation Committee of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar are to draft proposed legislation, and comment and advise on proposed legislation pertaining to marital and family law on behalf of the Section and attempt to improve existing law. The Committee monitors proposed legislation pertaining to or otherwise affecting marital and family law on behalf of the Section and lends its expertise to provide technical assistance and information to the Legislature to advance marital and family law. Lastly, the Committee will lobby on behalf of the Section in support of or in opposition to proposed legislation which is not prohibited by the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar.
